Zeddex limit orders

No exchange deposit was required for Zeedex’s limit orders in the design described in May 2021. Traders kept funds in their own wallets, without a separate exchange withdrawal stage.

- updated

This describes v0.3.0. The former project homepage now shows a domain-parking notice, so present-day order placement is unconfirmed.

Order placement and completion

Kyunghun Cheong’s v0.3.0 release account, published May 15, 2021, reported different behavior in earlier implementations of the Watcher, the service that checked order results.

Earlier order-result checking across two networks
Historical implementation Reported behavior
Earlier Ethereum implementation Cheong reported that the earlier Watcher approach worked well.
BSC before v0.3.0 Short block times and incomplete node data on Binance Smart Chain (BSC) disrupted the Watcher and caused the DEX to stop.

BSC traders also experienced dropped transactions and transactions stuck as pending. In v0.3.0, the Watcher repeatedly checked pending transactions and sent successful results to the backend. Wallet custody alone did not confirm that an order had executed successfully.

Gasless trading and wallet costs

The May 2021 release called Zeedex gasless and described gasPrice settings for submitted BSC transactions. It did not publish a complete user fee schedule, so the absence of exchange deposits should not be treated as a promise that every wallet action was free.
